My wife and I have a couple of very good friends who are doctors. And they love wine. So, they started to mix the two themes and started up something called “WineDoctors“, makes sense, no?
Lynn and Mary are THE wine doctors!
Lynn Gretkowski and Mary Jacobson aren’t just your two average MDs. The both did their residency in Ob/Gyn at Stanford (My wife Cheryl is a nurse there, that’s how we all met) and practice not only medicine but drinking in moderation, as well (just not at the same time).
Anyway, there is a lot of truth to what they preach. More and more studies are showing that moderate drinking (a glass or two a day) of wine has lots and lots of health benefits. (This is also known as the French paradox: Why do the french have one of the richest diets in the world, and not the highest incidence of heart disease. The thought is that all the goodies in wine are the key.)
Not only do they preach one of the few gospels that I can really get behind, but they also make their own wines as well. And they are tasty!

I live in the hills above Woodside, CA. If you know the area (or motorcycles) it’s about 8 houses from Alice’s Restaurant at Skyline Blvd and Hwy 84. The house is a dump, but we’re up near the ridge and have nice views of the south bay. And we’re just a few miles from Fogarty winery!
